Feel Your Feelings

Let’s talk about feelings!

I bet you don’t even want to think about them.

But that’s the problem!

So many of us want to avoid, resist, ignore, or numb them, especially with food. But as I’ve mentioned before, that is only a temporary solution. The real solution here is to feel them.

Feelings are meant to be felt so just let them happen.

Negative emotions are going to exist from time to time, it’s impossible to live without them.

But really, what’s so bad about them?

Yes, they’re uncomfortable, but what else? They’re not harming you, they’re not life threatening.

They’re simply just vibrations in your body.

When you break it down, you may feel some tingling, chest or stomach tightening, a jaw clench, a warmth running through your body or maybe some heaviness.

When you look at what is really going on when you feel something, just those physical feelings in your body, emotions can become less scary.

Experience them. Process them.

This doesn’t mean you go around yelling at everyone or cry all day, that’s not processing, that’s reacting. Processing is something you can do by simply sitting and experiencing what’s happening in your body.

 Being willing to feel uncomfortable will change your life.

When you can become more comfortable being uncomfortable, the possibilities of what you can accomplish will be endless! The fear of a feeling won’t hold you back any longer.

Feel all your feelings, all of them! Not just the goods ones!
